H.E President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit has left out loyalists to the Vice President Gen. Taban Deng Gai.
Kiir appointed or reinstated into Transitional National Legislative Assembly-TNLA more than 90 lawmakers from different parties. SPLM/A-IO Taban faction was out of the list.
It’s not the first time President Kiir has excluded the Taban team from any major political appointment in the country since 2016.
Maiwut county’s member of Parliament, Honorable Bor Gatwech Kuany took his frustrations to social media.
“The President has reinstated all elected MPs except me. This is to inform the people of Greater Maiwut, those who elected me to the National Assembly, and the people of South Sudan that today, in a Presidential decree, the President has reinstated all the once replaced elected Members of the National Assembly except me. This was a shock to me in the spirit of peace. I don’t see the reason why I could be excluded by the SPLM leadership from the government given that I was elected like all those reinstated MPS. I hope the SPLM leadership clarifies the matter to me”
Kiir reinstated more than 45 MPs into parliament with SPLM tickets, 25 SPLM-IO, and the rest from other political parties.
The newly appointed parliamentarian will take the oath of the office during the Independent Day, sources disclose to Ramciel.
Bor was first elected to parliament through an SPLM ticket representing Maiwut county in the 2010 general elections. He joined the government alongside Taban in 2016.
