The number of people committing suicide in South Sudan is on increased. Last week a soldier shot himself after killing his wife at the Juba-Bor road.

Over the weekend, an incident happened that shocked the town of Yei. Two men reportedly committed suicide in two separate locations.

The victims, a 23 years old male and 44 years old man hanged themselves in two different locations over the weekend.

Sources who spoke to Miraya Radio confirmed the incident on Monday.

“County Police Commissioner Maj General Lujang Kamba confirmed the incident to Radio Miraya and said preliminary investigations found that the first man was drunk by the time he took his own life, while the second had a misunderstanding with his wife before the suicide.”

“Maj General Lujang says the wife to the second victim has been taken into custody as further investigations continue.
