The newly appointed Commissioner of Ulang county, Gen. Riek Gach Gatluak Kerjiok arrives on Thursday at the county headquarters with a call for unity, Ramciel has learned.

A massive crowd came out to welcome the new commissioner.

Several sources familiar with the commissioner’s thinking said the first task for the commissioner is to unite the people from the recent clashes that left several dead.

According to Tut Luotkoway, a unity advocate and an SPLM/A-IO senior official, good leadership brings people together. He believes the commissioner is one of the leaders whose interest is to unite and provide services to the Ulang community.

He calls the entire Ulang to unite behind the commissioner.

“No good community or society without a good leader. Ulang County witnessed serious violence due to the absence of its commissioner. Let us stand firm with Ulang County Commissioner Riek Gach Gatluak Kierjiok. When we stand with him, he will be able to tackle our problems with good care.”

“He is smart, well speaker and a great leader. He will make a difference to Ulang county and the community, and also, he will make peace with all his neighbors. God bless him and give him great knowledge and wisdom to lead his people over the Ulang and Nasir in general.” Lany, a close aide, told Ramciel.
