13/06/2020 (LAKES STATE) – the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces have on Thursday killed a militia commander by the name Monydiar Maker while exercising his duties at his home in Rumbek, Lakes State. He was with his family of which; wife, nephew and children were present. The cattle keeper and youth leader was reportedly murdered alongside his family due to allegations that he had connections with the 7th October Movement that is gearing up to capture a few villages.
Since the signing of the peace agreement in September of 2018, armies from SSPDFs, SPLA-IO and NAS forces continue to engage in illegal activities throughout the country with SSPDFs reportedly raping women in the Equatoria region.
There have also been massive army (militia/cattle raiders) combatants affecting Warrap State, Jonglei State and Central Equatoria State in the last few months raising an eye brow on the alarming insecurity state of the country. This has led to TROIKA and U.S.A to renew calls on the government of South Sudan to stop delaying the appointment of State and Administrative governors with subsequent formation of States governments.
