The South Sudan Defense Forces section led by the recently defected warlord Gen. Moses Lokujo in Central Equatoria have attacked IO forces today afternoon according to sources.
The clashes are ongoing with casualties having been incurred on both sides.
Last week, a joint defence committee headed by Chief of Staff Johnson Juma have condemned similar clashes and summoned the generals under charge of such forces.
Confirmed by sources, the SPLA-IO area operation commander John Mabier Gar said that their forces have dispersed the forces of Moses Lokujo in Kajokeji area.
“Our forces have dispersed the attackers and we are currently under full control of the territory” he said.
South Sudan peace has been criticized for slow implementation and there are accusations that the government is not willing to put up security or control its forces.
Last week in Wau-Tonj road, civilians were shot dead by unknown armed persons raising fear of another clashes in the area that is dominated by SPLA-IO forces.
