Singer Elizabeth Chol Lam joins SSUF/A under Gen. Malong Awan

Prominent Nuer singer in the diaspora Elizabeth Chol Lam has tied link with South Sudan United Front/Army-SUFF/A to topple President Salva Kiir and FVP Dr. Riek Machar regime.

Chol has been living in the diaspora for nearly two decades has joined former powerful SPLA Chief of Staff, Gen. Paul Malong Awan, as Malong’s influence intensified across the nation.

As reported by prominent South Sudanese journalist turned politician Chol Duang Chan through a press release seen by Ramciel, the singer teamed with several others.

Among those who join are Chol’s husband, Dr. Simon Wuor Gai, a known and respected mental health practitioner in America.

According to a statement shared by the spokesperson of SSUF/A last week, more are joining the Malong camp.

“The leadership of South Sudan United Front/Army, SSUF/A, announces and welcomes Dr. Simon Wuor Gai, Musician Eliz Chol Lam Chuol and John Monytung Chol to the nationalist movement under the guidance of Gen. Paul Malong Awan.”

“Dr. Simon Wuor Gai, a respected mental health practitioner in the diaspora; his dear wife Eliz Chol Lam Chuol, a well-known musician in South Sudan and diaspora; and John Monytung Chol, a revered leader in his community, decided to join SSUF/A-which is the alternative movement of change in South Sudan.”

The spokesperson said the move is in response to the movement’s call for change as widely specified in the vision and mission of SSUF/A.

“These patriots have responded to the SSUF/A’s national call for change at a time when that call is gathering strength for action across the political and social spectrum in our great nation.”

“The statement, therefore, welcomes these great South Sudanese to our people’s movement”, further stated the statement.
