Prominent South Sudanese peace and Human rights activist accuses SPLM/A (IO) of lynching and maiming civilians in Maban county according to Tawfik Musa Tongo.
Musa believes IO army soldiers began killing civilians as of recent days when government troops and IO clashes in Dangaji, Mabaan county. Speaking to Ramciel in what he later wrote on his social media account, Facebook, Musa said all doubts are now cleared and the rebels are responsible for killing civilians in his home town, Dangaji.
“It is officially the SPLM_IO now have formally joined the war against the civilians.” He told our team from U.S.
“The IO soldiers left their containment site and attacked my hometown village of Dangaji. The passiveness of the SPLM_IO, the IO control their Mabaan affiliate, was clear that SPLM-IO was involved in the fight.”
He accuses SPLM/A (IO) of violating the Addis Ababa peace agreement by joining the war against civilians. Musa who in the past and still a government critic never outright against the rebels because they never harm civilians.
But for the past few days since the government and rebels clashes in Mabaan county, evidences emerged IO may have committed some atrocities against the civilians. He calls upon the IGAD AND Africa Union to investigate the recent clashes between government and the SPLM/A-IO in Mabaan.
“The SPLM-IO has violated the Addis Ababa peace agreement by joining the war against civilians. Where is the IGAD and the African Union? Where is September 12, 2018, peace observers? Mabaan civilians are under attack by the SPLM_IO, and the Juba regime is sitting ideal.”
He urges his community members to see beyond these two giants since they longer have a friend to protect them, suggesting they should not elect any of their member come election.
“Mabaan County now, you know the Juba regime and the SPLM_IO are not on your sites. Don’t forget the South Sudan future elections, never to vote for a candidate on Juba Regime ticked and especially the IO ticket. I will be coming live in the next few hours.”
“Mabaan county does not trust the Juba regime and the IO. They are the same people after their wealth without regard for their civilian’s security.”
