President Kiir hints at a return to 32 states

The President of South Sudan has today hinted a return to 32 states system which he strongly believes would solve the South Sudanese situation.

“…32 states is the solution and that is why I refused last time to give up on them but for the sake of peace I did.”

His remarks have however been seen as a set to the already fragile peace agreement.

The president has also blamed the civil war on what he refers to as ‘disobeying laws’ in the country which according to him, the result led to prevention of election that he said was only two years away.

This was during his address to the Nation on the National Dialogue forum. The National Dialogue has been described by senior politicians such as Dr. Lam Akol and Hon. Mabior Garang Mabior as a more of a pretense than actually being substantial enough to solve the South Sudanese issues.
