SPLM/A (IO) Interim Chairman, H.E Duer Tut Duir threatened to host President Kiir out of power if he does not show enough “political will” to implement R-ARCSS. He said Kiir is using delaying tactics to prolong the suffering of the South Sudanese people
The newly endorsed Interim Chairman, Hon. Duer Tut Duir accuses President of South Sudan, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit of lacking the political will to implement the peace agreement.
According to a document seen by Ramciel, Duer said, SPLM/A (IO) is committed to a peace agreement but President Kiir is using delaying tactics.
“We were and are for the R-ARCSS implementation in letter and spirit but we regret to mention that; The implementation of the Peace Agreement is not progressing, because Salva Kiir does not have the political will to implement the Agreement and because Dr. Riek went to Juba and decided the formation of the R-TGoNU before the implementation of the Security Arrangements, he (Riek Machar) violated the article: 2.2 of the R-ARCSS, he abandoned the SPLM/A-(IO) forces in a miserable situation; he betrayed the spirit of the Struggle of our fallen heroes & heroines and he betrayed the cause of our Struggle simply for sake of a redundant position of the first vice president.”
He accuses FVP Dr. Riek Machar Teny of promoting nepotism by appointing his wife, mother-in-law into the leadership portfolio.
“Despite our fight against Nepotism, Riek Machar didn’t hesitate to appoint his wife and the mother-in-law of his son as a Minister of Defense and Minister of Health respectively and for his family reason and interest, he appointed his own candidate as a Governor of Western Bahr El-Ghazal State. He has been using the movement for his interest and that of his family. Riek Machar turns the National Movement into a family business.”
The newly endorsed SPLM/A (IO) Chairman ordered members of the movement to cease all communications with the “former chairman”, and those abandoned the Movement.
“All members of the SPLM/SPLA-(IO) are ordered to cease all sorts of communication with Riek Machar and with those who have abandoned the Movement along with him.”
