Addis Ababa Ethiopia (Ramciel)-Real-Sudanese People Liberation Army (SPLM) leader Pagan Amum now talks with former SPLM/A-IO Chief of Staffs, LT. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, Ramciel has learned.

Pagan is said to be lobbying Gatwech to join his team to unite the opposing groups against the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and FVP Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

A source who spoke to Ramciel from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia via WhatsApp indicates that several phones calls have been made to Gatwech in recent days to discuss further opposition unity to topple President Kiir’s regime.

Simon is said to be reluctant to these suggestions. He wants to lead the entire opposition political spectrum through the military and march them to Juba. Pagan displayed no interest in this demand.

“There is confusion going around now as people like Pagan, Weyai Deng Ajak, Buay Rolnyang of Malong, and Chuol Gakah group compete to win the loyalty of powerful opposition military general. They know Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual has massive military support, so they are looking for ways to gain influence.”

Gatwech recently calls for a military meeting in Megenis-Sudanese borders to discuss the way forward as they no longer have a tie with FVP Machar, Sudans Post has reported.

Influential politician Hon. Duer Tut Duer was suggested to leads the Armed Opposition; however, Gatwech rejected the decision, Sudans Post has confirmed.

“This is now complicating the process, but Gen. Simon Gatwech will eventually make a decision that favors a move to topple President Kiir’s regime. Anyways it is a popular demand within the armed opposition.” Further stated the source.

Sudanese People’s Liberation Army’s (SPLM) leader Pagan Amum believed the breakthrough to unite the opposition will enable the parties to bring about lasting peace in the country.

Pagan wants to be the leader of the new group with Gatwech as a Chief of Staff.
