South Sudan United Front/Army accuses National Security Agents of instigating the Juba-Nimule highway attack to compromise the ongoing peace talk between the government and the holdout group in Rome.

Speaking to Deputy Spokesperson of SSUF/M, Maj. Philip Deng Kuol Nguot in an undisclosed location inside South Sudan, National Security Agents are to be blamed for the incident according to the latest investigation.

Maj. Philip said the recent attack is orchestrated by the enemies of peace.

“This incident occurred at around 3:00 pm’ South Sudan Local time when the congregation and the presidential convoys were returning to Juba after the conclusion of a beautiful Christian celebration. At that time, there was still the presence of heavy deployment of security forces from the celebration Venue all the way to Nesity, each convoy was accorded full security escort. In addition, there’s a military Artillery base at Jebel Lemon a few meters away from the incident scene. What is mind-boggling is how could such a dreadful incident happened in an area fully covered by government security forces? How did the assailants manage to infiltrate and lay such an ambush which singled out a vehicle carrying Catholic Nuns without being foiled?”

He said it was not possible for their group to carry out an attack because they are not closed to the area where the incident took place.

“Given the above-detailed security coverage, there were no indications of impending threats between Nesitu and Jebedian areas where the incident took place. It’s beyond any reasonable doubt that such a highly protected area could easily be penetrated by any holdout group other than the government’s forces themselves. It was a highly premediated carried out most probably by the insiders with an intention to evoke the masses emotionally as innocent Christians were killed and that would definitely implicate SSOMA peace process with Government.”

“According to our reliable security sources; indicated that one officer from the National Security Service active list by the name Justin Oyat who’s deployed at the HQ of Vice president James Wani Igga was instructed to carry out such a heinous crime that took the souls of two Catholic Nuns. The rogue officers clearly acted on directives of belligerent National Security services (NSS) Gen. Akol Koor Kuc as revealed by the internal source of intellegence. The immediate release of the suspects that were arrested in connection with the incident by the NSS claiming that they were just charcoal vendors who happened to be within the vicinity at the time of the incident was gimmick burry evidence.”
