The tragic attack yesterday that saw 2 Nuns killed in an ambush along Nimule-Highway. Following this horrific attack, South Sudan United Front/Army(SSUF/A) has denied its involvement in the recent attacks on Nimule-Juba highway which has sparked off widespread anger among the South Sudanese and faith-based community.
President Kiir and the head of Vatican, Pope Francis further condemned the attacks. The military spokesman of SSUF/A has come forward to clarify their position as one of the signatories of the Rome-based peace negotiation.
Colonel Akol, pledged the allegiance of their party commitment to Rome Declaration of Principles and Cessation of Hostilities Agreement. “The office of South Sudan United Front/Army(SSUF/A) military spokesman wish to precisely make it clear to the general public that the news circulating around the media concerning the Juba- Nimule highway attack on innocent civilians that claimed the lives of two Catholic Nuns and other three innocent civilians is not related to us by any standard.” said Colonel Akol Akol Pel, the Military spokesperson South Sudan United Front /Army(SSUF/A),
