Juba, 31/05/2020 (RB)—The Ministry of Health had issued a letter extended to Ramciel Broadcasting containing allegations that Dr. Makur had illicitly used a total of $ 30,000 for personal reasons that are not in terms with the Ministry’s directives. According to the letter, the cashier; Peter Laso withdrew such amount and Dr. Makur took the money but when asked to sign for what purpose the money was withdrawn, he declined saying he would come back to it. The money was allegedly withdrawn on 06/02/2020.
“According to financial regulation there must be documentation when the payment is being made, and the Director General of Finance and his deputy are to be involved when any payment is being made. But the Undersecretary bypassed the D/G of finance is unreasonable action,” writes Kuot Jook Alith, Legal Advisor in Ministry of Health.
Despite such accusations, it is not yet clear if Dr. Makur who has been using his intellect at work will continue to served or be dismissed.
The President has not yet commented on the subject matter but it is likely that the Dr. might be facing a possible dismissal.
