Three high ranking army officers have this morning, Monday 9th, defected from SPLA I.O under Riek Machar and returned to the National Army, the South Sudan People’s Defence Force (SSPDF).
The three army Generals headed by Maj. Gen. James Khor Chuol Giet, the Deputy Sector 3 Commander said he left what he described as family enterprise known as the SPLM/A I.O under the despot, corrupt, tribalist and nepotist leader Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon and his wife Angelina Jany Teny.
Maj. Gen James Khor Chuol Giet together with Maj. Gen. Kang Riek Diew and Maj. Gen. Lol Nguoth Chom made this historical move from the historical liberation town of Malual Gahoth at 7 A.M monday.
“I am declaring my return to the Government under His Excellency President Kiir under the historical tree, the Fig Tree (Ngop) and Presidemt Kiir should be proud of that because he knows this Fig Tree very well in Malual Gahoth,” says Maj. Gen James Khor Chuol in a statement.
Malual Gahoth Town is a historical town in the struggle for the liberation of South Sudan. This is the town where Commander Salva Kiir now the President of South Sudan, launched an offensive against the then Khartoum regime on November 17th 1983, dislodging enemy troops there.
