Dr. Riek Machar, First Vice President of the Republic OF South sudan and Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdok successfully held two consecutive meetings on the implementation of the peace process.
Machar however raised concerns and challenges causing a threat to the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement which include the rejection of his nominee to the deputy ministry of interior by President Salva Kiir Mayardit which according to Machar believes is a violation of the power sharing agreement.
Also, the two meetings discussed vital issues of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) focusing on the implementation of the Security Arrangements, Power-sharing Agreements on the Administrative Areas and appointment of the SPLM/A (IO) nominee to the position of Deputy Minister of Interior whose nomination was submitted the President Salva Kiir Mayardit on February 1st, 2021
The two leaders discussed at length power-sharing Agreements on the Administrative Areas and appointment of the SPLM-IO nominee, Nyanagwek Kuol to the position of Deputy Ministry of Interior as well as the implementation of the Security Arrangements which is the most crucial provision and corner stone in the revitalized peace agreement.
