In a letter extended to Ramciel Broadcasting, the Mabaan community have shrugged off claims that they supported Apadang-Dinka’s rejection of appointment of Gen. Johnson Olony as the SPLA-IO flag bearer of gubernatorial seat in the peace implementation agreement. The community have also rejected a letter that was circulated last week which boldly cited the rejection of Gen. Johnson Olony in particular.
On 6th of June, the Newspaper, Al-Watan published a controversial message that depicts a ‘union’ of Mabaan and Apadang Community rejecting the allocation of Upper Nile Governorship to SPLA-IO

Upper Nile State gubernatorial seat has been empty and on a crisis as their main man, Gen. Johnson Colony has been rejected by most people in the government and the Dinka Apadang of the Upper Nile State as well. This made the President not to read out Olony’s name while reading out the names of the other states’ governors on late June.
So far, negotiations have been ongoing and with the president having requested for an Administrative Area for the Apadang Community–on the basis of if IO persists with the ‘want’ of Olony being the governor, things are still on lock as IO hopes their candidate is accepted.
