Prominent South Sudanese activist, Dr. Peter Biar Ajak has called for early elections without H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit and First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Ajak, who has released a short video early on Tuesday responding to the government of South Sudan’s letter dismissing his recent testimony in the U.S Senate on Foreign Affairs, demands an immediate election as soon as possible.

Ajak has called upon the government of South Sudan to hold elections as soon as possible threatening that whether the government likes it or not South Sudanese will demand a Liberia model. He said, “Kiir will be removed like Liberia’s Charles Taylor.”

He said the current government is illegitimate.

“It is very clear, the objective is to perpetuate their corrupt rule to kill you and displace you. Kiir was never elected and the only thing that is keeping him in power is the peace agreement. And the peace agreement stipulated that the elections be held by March 2022.”

Ajak said the response by the government has only confirmed his testimony. He said if the government’s denying that they did not intend to kill him, “where is Dong Samuel and where is Aggrey Idris?” he further questioned.

Observers believed that Ajak’s recent testimony has damaged the government of South Sudan further at a large scale never imagined before internationally.
