General Johnson Olony Thabo, the opposition commander, who left main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) a week ago to form his own faction has revealed that the opposition group has no intention to attack SPLA-IO forces under the overall command of First Vice President and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar
Following a misunderstanding in the recent defections due to political reasons, a factional deadly fighting between forces loyal to both Machar and General Gatwech broke out resulting in the fatal causalities of at least 30 people.
A recent development confirmed that Gen. Johnson Olony informed H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon about their group acceptance of the ceasefire. Brigadier General William Gatjiath Deng, General Gatwech’s spokesman confirmed the phone calls between the two leaders are meant to show their stand as per not retaliating by attacking Machar’s forces
The spokesperson also reaffirmed  that General Gatwech and his groups have no intention to wage war against any  forces but we felt concerned for horrific attack at Magenis.
