Former South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation reporter and presenter, Garang John hits at H.E President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit and FVP, Dr. Riek Machar Teny over the decision to relocate the Upper Nile’s state capital of Makal County headquarters from Malakal to Wau Shilluk.

Mr. John noted that this is an “unjustified decision” and call for the two leaders to reverse the decision.

He suggested that “Malakal is a test of KiiRiek’s Style of leadership 2021.”

“The purported transfer of Makal County headquarters from Malakal to Wau is an unjustified decision and should be reversed with immediate effect. Let’s not solve the problem with another problem yajama!”

He points out that Juba County host the capital of the country yet it has not stopped the city from serving as the capital of South Sudan.

“Juba County has its headquarters in Juba and that has not stopped Juba city from serving as the capital of South Sudan.”

“Why are we again brewing up issues when the nation is at peace? The priority for Upper Nile State is service delivery, not ancestral boundaries! Hon. Abudhok & Hon. Monybuny should learn to prioritize.” He added.

He urged the leadership of the Upper Nile to referred the case to “International Arbitration for a permanent” solution to avoid the conflict.

“If the issue of land ownership in Upper Nile State capital is pressurizing and needs quick attention, refer it to independent Intl arbitration for a permanent solution. The nation is tired of meaningless chaos! These two communities have enjoyed a long history of inter-marriages & peaceful coexistence. Let no one break such historical bonds!”
