Powerful former Chief of Staff, Gen. Paul Malong Awan offers to pardon the break-away group from his movement.
According to a letter extended to Ramciel this afternoon, Malong asked former SSUF/A members who want to return to the ranks and files of the movement to feel free to return “home”.
The resolution to pardon former members who defected from the mainstream SSUF/A came after a thorough meeting of the leadership council.
“Following the resolutions of the general assembly meeting of the 19th Dec 2020, and pursuant to the powers vested in me as Chairman and C-in-C of South Sudan United Front/Army (SSUF/A, in the first sitting of the Leadership and Command Council, 2018, I, Gen. Paul Malong Awan, do hereby pardon former SSUF/A members who want to return to the ranks and files of the moment.”
According to Chol Daung the spokesperson of the movement, this move is purely intended to reach to “the order is to everyone who are willing to come back” to the movement.
