South Sudan’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Martin Lomuro said on Monday that the newly appointed ministers and promoted Generals should not work with H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit but work for him.

Lomuro made the remarks during the swearing ceremony of Dr. Benjamin Marial, the newly appointed Minister in the Office of the Presidential Affairs, Lt. Gen. Santino Deng Wol, Chief of Staff of SSPDF, Deputy Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Chol Thon, Among others.

Lomuro warned that to make President Kiir happy and not to keep reshuffling, working for him is the best possible solution.

“… let’s work FOR the president and not with the president. If we don’t work for him, he will not be happy (he will be mad) and changes (reshuffling) will happen,” he told the guests present during the swearing ceremony.

South Sudanese on social media was quickly enraged by the minister’s comment expressing hopelessness.

“It is now clear these ministers are not working for the people of South Sudan. What next do you guys want to hear? They are working for President Salva Kiir Mayardit and not with him. They will do exactly what he wants them to do, and in this case not to develop the country but to siphonage its resources.” wrote one Rights Activist who asked for anonymity.

“My blood pressure is shooting up” add another facebook public figure.

Dr. Benjamin Marial on the other hand announced that Kiir knows everything in ministry and is ready to work for the President.

“I will work FOR the president. I will depend on what he wants us to achieve. He’s the only one to see that everything works in the ministries…”

The ministers made the comments during the swearing ceremony on Monday.
