The Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed who is also a leader in the development transformation of Ethiopia through technology had on Monday received the first-ever fully assembled electric car in the capital, Addis Ababa.
The car was assembled by Marathon Motors, an Ethio-company that works to change and contribute to the global ‘green goal’ which aims to eliminate carbo-emission. Carbon dioxide emission is said by scientists to cause global warming which ultimately affects climate change.
“As we transform Ethiopia’s greening and climate change aspirations into concrete actions through Green Legacy Initiative and the Sheger & Entoto Parks, this morning I was happy to receive the first electric car fully assembled in Ethiopia by Marathon Motors,” writes the Prime Minister in his Facebook post.

Abiy also revealed that the city has no other car that reduces emission.
