A Brigadier General identified as Bior Ajoh Bior (retired) has been shot dead in Sherikaat military barrack a few minutes to 7pm. According to eye witnesses, the gunman dressed in civilians clothes picked the general with a bullet while under a tree seated. The general was said to be playing ‘table game’ or basically playing cards.
The gunman is a soldier identified as Apukic an SSPDF member disguised as a civilian.
“Immediately as the general died on spot, the the barrack was deserted” said an eye witness.
After the situation calmed, the gunshots carried on a few minutes later in what seem a partial fire exchange between unidentified groups.
According to other sources, the killing of the general is seen as a revenge of Lual Marine death.
“Apukic Anhiem is a member of unknown gunmen and close friend to deceased Lual Marine. He is the shooter; He is a closed relative to MI chief Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor.” Said a source who spoke to us while in Sherikaat. The man asked his identity concealed.
Another source said that the soldier was sent by Gregory Versalii to carry out the revenge mission.
As of 8:30pm, Gen. Akol Koor has given orders to National Security Unit to advance towards Sherikat and quell the situation.
