The former Army chief General Paul Malong Awan, leader of South Sudan United Front/Army has been abandoned by his close commandant General Stephen Buay Rolonyang earlier today.
In a statement, General Buay has named the new rebel group South Sudan Patriotic Movement/Army (SSPM/A) whose intention and ambitious goal id to remove President Salva Kiir Mayardit from power,
Speaking to journalists, General Buay said “with regards to this political instability in the country, we the officers of the SSPDF, national security and other organized forces support the declaration of the People’s Coalition for Civil Action(PCCA) and hereby announce to the people of South Sudan that we have taken up arms against the regime under the name South Sudan patriotic movement/Army(SSPM/A),and we ask all armed citizens in South Sudan to join us and fight for the regime change,”
He further went ahead and mentioned that his group is ready to liase and form an opposition alliance under the leadership of General Simon Gatwech Dual to fight for change of the ruling regime under the leadership of HE. Salva Kiir in South Sudan.
The creation of the the front comes as General Buay in may this was forcefully retired from his services under the leadership of Malong.
