Powerful Opposition armed general, Lt. Gen. Johnson Olony rejects the newly appointed Upper Nile governor and vowed to reveal his “next move”.
Olony, in a written letter sent to the Office of the First Vice President, informed Dr. Machar that the Fashoda State will not accept any other person apart from him.
Machar was reportedly said to have downplayed the request, according to a source familiar with his thinking.
On Friday, the president of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit in a presidential decree appoints Hon. Budhok Ayang Kur was the governor of Upper Nile.
Olony, in his decision, says the entire SPL/A-IO military leadership will be involved to decide the next move. According to his interview with Sudanspost, had this to say;
“Of course, this will not be my decision alone. There will be a wider decision and we will bring all the military leadership of the SPLM/SPLA (IO) because if this is a violation, it will not be me alone who will work to say it because it is a collective job and then we will decide the way forward,” he added.
