June 14, 2020 (RB), On Saturday morning, Egyptian self-made billionaires, Naguib Onsi Sawiris joined the diplomatic war between Cairo and Addis Ababa when he proudly posted on his Twitter account that, Egypt is likely to declared war against Ethiopia.

Sawiris who is currently the chairman of Weather Investments’ parent company and CEO of Orascom Telecom Holding believed that Egypt will not allow Ethiopia to starve them and war is likely.

He surprised his followers by twitting on Saturday morning that,

“If Ethiopia doesn’t come to reason, we the Egyptian people will be the first to call for war #EgyptNileRights”

The Billionaire is the first business owner in Egypt who publicly threaten Ethiopia with war amid a fragile diplomatic row between the two nations.

“We will never allow any country to starve us,” said one of the most successful businessmen in Egypt.

For the last 7 years, Cairo and Addis Ababa, have had a poor relationship over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), aimed to elevate the economic status of Ethiopia; a threat to more than 100 million Egyptians.

This move is seen by many regional leaders and the international community as a threat to Horn of Africa’s peace; a possible regional war. With South Sudan reportedly engaged with Cairo, the young nation can easily be turned into a war zone.
