The author of the book: War Talk at Peace Talks, had in a statement hints at the rough times facing the leaders of the country.
While speaking to Radio Miraya during an interview on the July 9th anniversary of the Independence Day, the former SPLA-IO Secretary for Foreign Relations who works currently as a minister for peace, Stephen Par Kuol had said that leaders will be held accountable for the mismanagement of the country.
“We have mismanaged politics in this country; we shouldn’t have gone back to political violence since we became independent. The people must hold us responsible and accountable for the way we are running the country.”
Earlier last month, Vice President Taban Deng Gai reminded his counterpart H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit of all of them being held accountable like Omar Bashir for failure to deliver to the people of the country. Omar who is being held at custody by the government of Prime Minister Hamdok, had caused a lot of damages and countless human rights abuses at both Southern Sudan and Northern Sudan since taking over power in a coup in 1983 from President Nimeiri.
The South Sudanese leaders have long been involved in corruption and mismanagement of public property and as well as causing political violence that left thousands of people dead throughout the country.
