Africa join Tanzania in mourning the death of Pres. John Pombe Magufuli

Social media is rocked with woes after the Tanzanian vice president announced the death of the Africa’s Charismatic leader John Pombe Magufuli on 17th of March 2021.

“President John Magufuli died of a heart ailment that he has battled for over 10 years,” Samia Suluhu Hassan said.

She added that the president had been receiving treatment at Mzena hospital since Sunday, and announced 14 days of national mourning.

Magufuli died in his capital Dar es Salaam.

His death has shocked many across Africa and left intellectuals with questions. There has not been a man who boldly opposed the western foreign policy on Africa as him. Due to this, a gap in the leadership of Africa is already seen and especially in his country Tanzania.

As of Today, Tanzanians flooded the streets of major cities and towns, mourning his death.

The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan has conveyed its condolences to the country through a written letter below.



John Pombe Joseph Magufuli served as the fifth President of Tanzania from 2015 until his death in 2021.

He served as Minister of Works, Transport and Communications from 2000 to 2005 and 2010 to 2015 and was chairman of the Southern African Development Community from 2019 to 2020.

His achievements and helping Tanzania achieves its potentials are sealed and he will forever be remembered in his home country and across Africa.
