South Sudan has been in a decade of unrests and civil wars that greatly devastated the economy. A suspected Ukrainian plane with military hardware destined for South Sudan forced out of Entebbe International Airport, according to a security source in Kampala.
The plane is said to have lifted off from Lutsk Military Airport in Ukraine on August 13, and arrived on August 14 in Uganda. responsible authorities stopped the plane from executing any disembarkments before its alleged expulsion following a request by an unidentified country.
The source said there was an arrangement between the Ukrainian government and its Ugandan counterparts to ship the weapons to South Sudan via the Ugandan-South Sudan border, but said one of the countries had pressured Uganda to returning the plane to where it originated.
According to speculated reports, there seemed to be an arrangement that the delivery of the weapons are made through Uganda, but pressure amounted form an anonymous country forcing the plane to takeoff.
